grave.jpgOur Personal Gratitude!
The entire staff of John A. Gentleman Mortuaries wishes to thank you, our Veterans, for your gift to us. Your personal sacrifices will never be forgotten. We are proud of all the men and women who fought and continue to fight everyday to protect our lives, liberty and freedom. You are always welcome to stop by one of our facilities. A member of our trained staff can assist you with any questions you may have about your personal plans and explain the many options that are available to you and your family.

Who Is Larry Capetto?
He is a filmmaker and military historian who has produced a series of documentaries, entitled Lest They Be Forgotten, honoring the sacrifices made by World War II veterans on Omaha Beach and Iwo Jima. A resident of Grand Junction, Colorado, Mr. Cappetto has made it his life's mission to interview aging World War II veterans and document their personal stories.

Why Are These Stories Important and Who Should See This Film?
Anyone old enough to understand the concepts of war, freedom and sacrifice should see Lest They Be Forgotten. Due to the graphic nature of some accounts, this film is not suitable for small children, but certainly students who have studied world history are encouraged to attend. Lest They Be Forgotten has proven to be very compelling to high school students who may be tempted to feel that wars fought long ago have no meaning to them. This documentary brings history to life in a very powerful and personal way, and it will help the younger people in our community understand and respect the sacrifices made by veterans on their behalf. Even people old enough to remember World War II will come away from the film with a deeper appreciation for our veterans. We can honor these brave men and women, and bring their history to life for current and future generations.

roseswall.jpgWhy Is John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Sponsoring This Program?
As caregivers to the community, we know how important it is for the lives of our loved ones to be honored. We strongly believe that the brave veterans in our community who have fought to defend and protect the freedoms we enjoy today deserve to be remembered and honored. This showing of Lest They Be Forgotten is our way of saying thank you to our veterans.

Since 1917, the members of Selected Independent Funeral Homes have been committed to providing families with sensitive, caring assistance and in helping them create meaningful ceremonies that honor their loved ones while meeting the emotional needs of family and friends. Our membership affords us the opportunity to share ideas and best practices with like-minded funeral directors who hold the satisfaction of each family they serve to be of the highest value. We are extremely proud to be counted among the active members of this premier professional organization, because the knowledge we gain from our membership is translated into superior service for the families of our community.
