As a lasting tribute to the families we serve and to honor your loved one, Tom Belford developed the John A. Gentleman Botanical Memorial Program almost a decade ago. Tribute plantings, such as trees, shrubs and perennial flowers are placed throughout the Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha's Botanical Center. The gardens provide a place of beauty, serenity and solace that will continue to bring comfort to families in the future. Families find comfort in knowing their loved one's memory lives on in the beauty of nature.
Discover a hidden sanctuary in the heart of the city.
Lauritzen Gardens, located at 100 Bancroft Street in Omaha, Nebraska, exists as a site of natural woods and rolling terraces on a bluff just west of the Missouri River. It is a 100-acre site featuring many outdoor garden areas. The spectacular hidden oasis offers a perfect opportunity for you to explore the beauty and tranquility in the heart of an urban city. The garden has become a popular site and hosted around 100,000 visitors in 2004.
Botanical Memorial Dedication Ceremony
Each year John A. Gentleman Mortuaries places a plaque in our memorial which is located in the Song of the Lark Meadow within the Lauritzen Gardens. The plaque displays the names of all those for whom memorials were planted that year. Family and friends are invited to attend the dedication ceremony. At the time of the dedication, special arrangements are made by John A. Gentleman Mortuaries for attendees to explore the beautiful gardens and visit the memorial which houses those plaques. Over the years, many people have expressed appreciation for the opportunity to publicly acknowledge the loss of their loved one. Families and friends find peace in this sacred space. Their loved one's memory lives on in the beauty of nature.
As the time for the next dedication approaches, look for the date and time posted on our events calendar.
