Cw3 Norris N. Whitford, Iii, Us Army (Ret)

December 28, 1970 — March 15, 2023

Preceded in death by father, Norris N. Whitford, Jr.

Survived by wife, Helen L'Herault; children, Jonathan Whitford, Vivianne Whitford; mother, Karen Whitford; step father, Bob Miller; brother, Lee Whitford.

Norris was a third generation military in his family, proudly serving his country in the US Army. He retired in 2013 after serving 24 years as Chief Warrant Officer 3 in Germany. He came back to the USA to live in Colorado, a place he called “home” which he said was the greatest place on earth.

He was an avid fan and follower of all things Colorado when it came to sports. He was especially excited when the Avalanche hockey team won the Stanley Cup last season. Any opportunity to see any of his teams play, he would attend live, if possible. Otherwise, he was switching channels to see them if they happened to be playing at the same time.

Norris was very active in many sporting activities, especially bowling which is where he met his wife, Helen at a bowling tournament that was organized through the Elks Lodge.

Norris and Helen moved to Nebraska in 2017 with the loving support of his parents, Karen and Bob. They promptly got involved in the community by joining a bowling league. From there he met other like minded people and soon after was invited to join a group of friends to golf every Sunday. The next adventure, after seeing the Olympic trials, was to learn Curling which he excelled in, as with all sports that he played.

He loved to travel and was game for anything and everything, going to new places and having new experiences. He was a force to be reckoned with.
