Alvera Sharp

October 29, 1939 — August 9, 2024

Omaha, NE

Alvera (Al) Crockett Sharp was a gift to Rachel Crockett and Thomas Jefferson Wallace (TJ) She was the youngest of three children. She grew up in a loving family surrounded by other family members. She attended and graduated from the Chicago, Illinois schools. After high school, Alvera studied computer technology, worked in banking and sales. She loved sales and was an excellent sales agent in the sales positions she held throughout her life.

Being adventurous, Alvera left Chicago and headed to California where for a short period of time she supported herself by selling her paintings. In the 1980’s Alvera moved to Omaha to care for her mother until Rachel made her transition. In 1999 Alvera married Tyrone Sharp and moved to Florida, purchasing a home and living in the small community of Inverness. After this union ended, she moved to Springfield, Ohio where she lived until July 2024. Upon returning to Omaha, she began reuniting with friends she had worked with at a company called DTN.

Alvera, with the assistance of her close friend, Gloria had found the perfect apartment for her and her beloved pet Viera. They were to move into this 2-bedroom unit on August 15, unfortunately Alvera fell ill and was rushed to the hospital where she made her transition on Friday August 09, 2024.

She will be remembered as a caring, fun-loving person who never met a stranger. In fact, during the short time she lived at the Rolling Hills retirement facility she had already made friends with residents and the staff. Everyone knew Alvera!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. Wallace and Rachel Crockett; and brother, Reno Crockett. She leaves to cherish her memory, brother, Robert Crockett (Yvonne); sister-in-law, Debo Crockett; beloved cousin, Bernard Jones (Becky); other cousins, nieces and nephews; friend, Gloria Rodgers; loving pet, Viera; and a host of friends including everyone Alvera ever met.
