April Lynn Blevins was born on December 29, 1975 in Fort Dodge, IA to parents Brian Lane and Vicki Border. She graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1994 and went on to attend Peru State College where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. She later graduated from Bellevue University with a Master’s degree in counseling.
April met Shawn, the love of her life, in high school. They were a perfect match. They married on June 13, 1998 in Nebraska City, NE. They moved to Omaha, NE in 1999 and then settled in Bellevue, NE in 2001 where they bought their first house. They were blessed with their first child, their baby girl Madison on September 14, 2001. Alec, their sweet boy, came along a couple years later, being born on October 9, 2003. April’s heart was so full having these two amazing kids in their life. There wasn’t anything more important to April than her family! They were her world!
April ‘s life work has been based around helping others. She started as a social worker. When she passed she was a therapist through Family Enrichment. She has helped and touched many people through her life’s work and she will be greatly missed.
April was one of the most talented and crafty people there was. Whether she was knitting blankets, making alterations for a friend or the Bellevue West band, making something with her cricket, making shirts and bows, and so much more, there wasn’t anything that she couldn’t do. She was always everyone’s go to person when it came to needing something made or personalized. She was also one of the most loving and caring people there ever was. So many people called her for advice, therapy, really anything they needed help with. She was always helpful and most importantly honest.
April passed peacefully in her sleep on April 5, 2024. Her life’s work and her loving character and giving personality will be remembered forever.
