Arthur P. Ford, III died April 3, 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska. Art was born in Salt Lake City on December 1, 1943 to Arthur P. Ford, Jr. and Phyllis (Jensen) Ford. He graduated from Olympus High School (1962). From 1963-1965, he served an LDS Mission in the California Mission (CA, NV, AZ).On February 2, 1966, he married Diane Johanson in the Salt Lake Temple after she completed a mission to Finland. They had met in their 9th grade Algebra class. Art graduated from the U of Utah in 1967 with a BS in Acctg and in 1968 with an MBA. He was a CPA and a CFE. Art and Diane have 1 daughter and 5 sons: Arthur IV (Misa), Thomas (Bonnie), Camille (Fernando), Benjamin (Hye-Gyoung), Joshua (Heather), and Micah (Deceased). Art traveled extensively on business. He often took his wife and children on these extended trips. Sometimes he also took his mother and mother-in-law. Art served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. In later years he served as President of the Denver LDS Vietnamese Branch. He also served as a Bishop and in many other church callings. He was active in the Boy Scouts and as a Civil Air Patrol Chaplain. He and all of his living sons are Eagle Scouts. In 2013-2014, Art and Diane served a Military Relations Mission at Fort Carson, CO. They provided counsel and support to young soldiers, their families, and survivors.
Art is survived by his wife,5 children, and 20 grandchildren. Funeral Service April 9, 2016 at 2PM with Visitation at 1PM at Church of Christ of LDS, Papillion, NE. Entombment will be in the Holladay Memorial Park, Holladay, UT.
