Barbara Jean Putnam, age 82, of Omaha, Nebraska passed peacefully on May 4, 2022 after battling Alzheimer’s.



She graduated from Mercy high school in 1957 and was involved in many activities: glee club, voice class, dramatics, Red Cross, Marinotes, press club, Mercy Hi Times, Merican coeditor, Safe Teens, and Triple trio.



Barb had a great career at Northwestern Bell telephone company in the public relations department.



A few of Barb’s favorite things included singing, dancing, traveling, and playing sports. You could find her on the golf course many days of the week.



Barb loved spending time with everyone – so many friends to be thankful for. But what gave Barb the most joy were her 5 grandkids and 8 great grandkids; supporting them in every aspect. She was so adored by all of them. When they called her GiGi her face lit up with joy.



Barb touched so many lives with her support, kindness and love. Please join us in celebrating her life.



Barb is survived by son’s Bo (Julie) and Craig Putnam and her daughter Dawn Putnam, brother Gary (Sandy): other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her son Tim and other family members.



In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Mercy High School Omaha, Nebraska.



Visitation begins, Sunday May 15th, at the 72nd Street Chapel, at 4pm with a Wake Service at 5:30pm.



Memorial Mass Monday, May 16th, 9:30am at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 3601 N 65th St.



Immediately following Mass, we will gather for a light luncheon with friendship, stories and love at St. Bernard’s School cafeteria.
