Betty M. "Betsy" Bender

Betsy was born in Fairfield, CA to Jay and Shirley Albright. She was raised in Omaha, NE and graduated from Holy Name High School in 1973. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s from UNO. She married Fred in 1983. Together they have 4 wonderful children: Jon, Becky, Jimmy, and Sarah. Betsy worked as a PE teacher for over 30 years, the vast majority at Holy Name. She loved shopping, traveling, and concerts.  

Betsy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Fred Bender; children, Jon (Ashley) Bender, Becky (Jason) Galvan, Jimmy (Kelsey) Bender and Sarah (Patrick) Lynch; 10 amazing grandchildren: Gabi, Peyton, Bre, Lilly, Jay, Maggie, Emmy, Colin, Theo, and Tyler; six siblings: Anne (Dale) Terry, Pat (Lori) Albright, Mike (Therese) Albright, Donna (Dave) Sweeney, Kelly (Greg) Kubitschek, and Mary (Joe) Manley; a plethora of nieces, and nephews; her extended family and many good friends.

MASS of Christian Burial Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:30am at Holy Name Catholic Church.

VISITATION with the family begins Friday, August 23, 2024, after 5:00pm at church with a WAKE service at 7:00pm.
