Carl G. A. Olsen

Carl George Alfred Olsen Age 90 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in his home surrounded by family.



Carl was born on 11/23/1931 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Carl and Emma Olsen. He was raised on his family’s farm with his 3 brothers, Clarence, Conrad, and Clair. When Carl was 8 years old he became ill with polio. He spent over a year in Gillette Hospital in St. Paul Minnesota where many stricken with polio were cared for. After leaving the hospital, Carl returned to school. Carl graduated from Brainerd high school and went on to get his associates degree from Brainerd College.



Later Carl moved to Omaha and started working for Safeway Stores where he met his loving wife, Florence. They were married August 10, 1960 and were married for over 61 years.



Carl worked in the Grocery industry on the inventory crew and in management. He also obtained his realtor’s license and began buying investment properties which he managed with his wife. Carl was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 60 years.



Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Carl’s favorite place to vacation was Brainerd, Minnesota which he called “God’s Country.”



Carl’s family include, wife, Florence; son, Carl (DeAnn) Olsen; daughter, Margaret (Brian) Moreland; son, Steven (Patricia) Olsen; grandchildren, Megan (Joel) Becker, Nicholas Olsen, Emily Olsen, Kelsey (Connor Lacy) Moreland, Courtney Moreland, Jack Moreland, Owen Olsen, Grace Olsen, Lylie Olsen; brother-in-law, John "Jack" Frink.



Carl Olsen was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Carl J. Olsen; brothers, Clair and Clarence Olsen; sisters-in-law, Polly Frink, Mary Frink and Catherine Schoening; and brother-in-law, Neal Schoening





Visitation will be held Sunday, May 22nd 2022 - 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a prayer service at 3:30 PM at the John A. Gentleman Mortuaries - Pacific Street Chapel, 14151 Pacific Street Omaha, NE. 68154



Private Family Services are being held.



Memorials are suggested to: Alzheimer's Association or Messiah Lutheran Church.
