Carol Ann Plichta

Carol Ann Plichta, nee Vagasky

November 22, 1958 – December 25, 2023

Carol was born in Bridgeport, CT to George and Elizabeth Vagasky of Stratford, CT.  She went to school in Stratford, then studied Education, specializing in Childhood Special Education at Southern Connecticut State University.  She was a very dedicated special education teacher for the Bedford, New Hampshire and later, Bellevue, Nebraska Public Schools. Carol was very active with the Catholic Church Music Ministry wherever she was living, as a vocalist and guitarist. She loved to travel, particularly visiting National Parks and historical sites throughout the country.  Carol is survived by her husband of 17 years, Theodore Plichta; children, Zachary (Robin) Belanger and Lisa (John) Spurrell; grandchildren, John and Chloe Spurrell and Madison Belanger; nephews, Bradley and Andrew Vagasky.  Preceded in death by both parents, George and Elizabeth, and brother, Stephen Vagasky.

A Memorial Mass will be given on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 11am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2302 Crawford St, Bellevue, NE. Carol will be buried at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
