Carolyn L. Ireland

Carolyn Ireland died peacefully on March 24 in Omaha. Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years George; parents, George and Kathryn Matheson; and siblings, Wilma, Margaret, and George. Survived by sons Matthew of Boston, and Andrew and wife Sheila of Omaha. Born and raised in North Omaha, Carolyn worked at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, including as an office manager in the Chancellor’s Office of the University of Nebraska Medical Center for many years until her retirement. Carolyn was a long-time generous supporter and active volunteer with the League of Women Voters and Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha. Private family service only. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn urges you to please vote for Joseph Biden for President in November 2024, and/or make a memorial donation to Doctors Without Borders, the Food Bank for the Heartland, or City Sprouts of Omaha.
