Charles Edward Peterson, Jr. died May 24, 2019 in Rancho Mirage, Ca. He was 92 yrs old.
He was born January 8, 1927 to Elizabeth (Hoffman) and Charles E. Peterson, Sr. He graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1945, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance in 1950.
Upon graduation Chuck joined his father, Charles E. Peterson, Sr., at Byron Reed Company, Inc as a property manager. He established TransEquity, Inc. Relocation Management Services, a division of Byron Reed Company, Inc. Chuck became sole owner, president and chairman of the board in 1969. Over the course of his career he founded eight publicly held real estate investment syndicates, and was president of nine real estate investment corporations. Chuck was one of the eight original investors in Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. In 2003 he sold Byron Reed Company, Inc. and retired.
Chuck's passion was flying. He earned his pilot's license more than 60 years ago and owned 9 different aircraft. He enjoyed traveling to Europe and Asia. He also enjoyed wintering at his home in Rancho Mirage.
Chuck was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie M. Peterson: his parents, Elizabeth and Charles E. Peterson, Sr.: his sister, Marilyn Paulson; and his son, Charles E. Peterson, III. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; his stepson, Michael; his brother in law, Brick Paulson of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.
