Charles Engh, Age 98 of Shorewood Landing, MN., retired Vice-president of Nash Finch Co., Native of Wadena, MN. Alumnus of the University of Minnesota and St. Thomas University, Naval Officer in the WW II Pacific Theater. Member of Phoenix Masonic Lodge, Zurah Shrine, Sons of Norway, Norwegian Glee Club of Minneapolis, Viking Torsk Club, VFW, American Legion, and the Minneapolis SCORE chapter.
He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley; father, Peter; mother Ferdina; sisters, Eudora, Idell, Gwendolyn; brothers, Nestor, Peder and Keith;
Survived by his sons, Kermit (Caroline) of Bennington, NE., Douglas (Kristin) of Newbury, FL. and Eric (Lisa) of Minneapolis, MN.; grandchildren, Courtney, Audra, Duncan, Madison and Drew; great-grandchildren, Brynn, Ascher, Weston, Cole, and Maverick.
Charles was the son of his beloved Norwegian father and Danish mother. He lived a long life with love and pride in the extended family that is left behind. His other interests included golf, woodworking, singing in the Norwegian Glee Club, travel, history and current affairs with a strong concern for the future of our great country, helping business start-ups, participating with fraternal groups and cheering for Nebraska Cornhuskers and Golden Gopher football teams, but mostly being with family and friends.
