Lee is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Words to best describe Lee are LOVE, compassion and humility. Lee was passionate about the success of others and did all he could to help them do so. His involvement in the community over the years speaks to his love for the city of Omaha and for the people who live here.
When not attending a school or sporting event for his grandchildren, Lee could be found with a paintbrush in his hand, or with his nose in a novel. And if you ever needed a historical reference for Nebraska or Creighton athletics, Lee was your walking encyclopedia.
Lee’s legacy as a professional educator includes over three decades as a teacher and administrator in Millard Public Schools, the “voice of the Mustangs” for Millard North High School sporting events, and a member of the Millard North Hall of Fame, class of 2015. In addition, Lee ushered thousands of fans to their seats for concerts and sporting events for the city of Omaha and Creighton University.
Lee graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and then started his education career in Bloomfield, NE. In 1967, Lee began his Millard Public Schools adventure, during which time he earned a Master’s degree. Lee retired from MPS in 1998.
In his time with Millard Public Schools, Lee taught various mathematics classes for junior high school before transitioning into an administrative roll for 9th and 10th grade in 1978, and then at Millard North High School in 1981. His administrative duties were many, among which Lee was responsible for putting together all student schedules— pre computer!
On crisp Friday nights in the fall, Lee’s voice could be heard booming over the loudspeakers at Millard North home football games as he was the “voice of the Mustangs.” And in 2015, all of Lee’s hard work and dedication to his students landed him a coveted spot in the Millard North Hall of Fame.
