Dale was born and raised in Sioux City, IA, graduating from East High School. He went on to join the Army, serving in the European Theatre of World War II (France, Germany, Austria and Italy) as Lieutenant in the 103rd Infantry Division. Dale worked at Metz Baking Company for many years, and also owned a hot tank service. He lived in Lincoln, Omaha, and Mesa, AZ, and was a member of the Lincoln Kiwanis Club, as well as the Tangier Shriners Clown Unit in Omaha for many years.
Preceded in death by wife, Jeanette; and sister, Clarabelle Clark.
Survived by children, James (Gerri) Grubel of Issaquah, WA, Ronald (Carol) Grubel of Sioux City, IA, Kathleen (Chuck) Uribe of Estes Park, CO, Jeffrey (Sherry) Grubel of Omaha; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Grubel of Omaha, and Darrell Grubel of Sioux City, IA.
