Danielle Mary Bemis

October 16, 1978 — September 25, 2024

Omaha, NE

Danielle Mary Bemis was born October 16, 1978 to Carl and Helene Soby in Omaha, Nebraska. She passed away unexpectedly on September 25, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 45.

Danielle was a wonderful teacher, she was beautifully honest and she loved her roles as a wife, daughter, sister and friend. Her greatest and proudest role in life was as a mother to her four amazing children whom she showered with love. She instilled upon them the values of being honest and how to treat others, and was their number one supporter in all of their interests. If you asked her about her children, her response would always start with a smile and a twinkle in her eye. They were her everything.

Danielle graduated from Dana College with a B.A. in Education and received her Masters in Early Childhood Education from Concordia (MN) University. She was a member of the Dana College women’s soccer team and formed lifelong friendships with her “Dana Girls Crew” which later transformed into cherished family friendships.

On June 16, 2007, Danielle married the love of her life, Jay Bemis, in Omaha, Nebraska. They enjoyed traveling, attending sporting events, strengthening their faith together and engaging with friends and family. However, their favorite activity was spending quiet time together and enjoying the present.

As an educator, Danielle excelled at teaching young children and was often the first educator a child had. She undoubtedly left a memorable impression on countless children. Danielle lived by the motto “If you can be anything, be kind” and had a positive impact on everyone she encountered. She did not judge and was always willing to give you her time no matter what she had going on. Simply put, she was the best and if you knew Danielle you were blessed.

Danielle is survived by her devoted husband, Jay; children: Jules, James, Henry and Ellie; father: Carl; siblings: twin sister, Theresa (Jimmy), Michael (Debbie), David (Cindy), Ann Marie (John), Paul, Katherine (Glenn), Peter (Kerry), Mary, John Michael, James, Erick, Natasha, Ben, Bridget (Cameron), and Patrick; father and mother-in-law: Jim and Joanne Bemis; brothers-in-law: Bill (Erin), John (Meredith) and Rich (Bre) Bemis; and an abundance of amazing nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Helene, and brother, Mark.
