David J Ellison

David J. Ellison, associate professor of accounting, received his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1974, and his MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1969. Dr. Ellison joined the faculty at Creighton University in 1981 as chairman of the department and served in that capacity for three years. Prior to coming to Creighton, he was on the accounting faculty at both Kansas State University and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Dr. Ellison worked several years in public accounting with Price Waterhouse & Company and Murphey, Jenne, and Jones. Professor Ellison has also served as a consultant for firms in both public accounting and industry. Dr. Ellison is co-author of both "Readings and Cases in Auditing" and the accompanying "Solutions Manual". He is the editor of Proceedings of the Midwest Accounting Society, April, 1991. Dr. Ellison's articles have appeared in the CPA Journal, National Cooperative Accountant, Magazine of Bank Administration, Arkansas Business and Economic Review and The Nebraska CPA. In addition, his work has been reprinted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Dr. Ellison is active in numerous professional organizations, including Program Chair and Editor for the Midwest Accounting Society's 1991 Annual Meeting. He chaired the committee responsible for selecting the outstanding paper award for the Midwest Business Administration Association. Dr. Ellison is a member of the Financial Executives Institute (FEI), Nebraska Chapter and chairman of its Academic Relations Committee and the American Accounting Association, Midwest Business Administration Association, Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Ozark Economic Association, and Omicron Delta Epsilon.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Wanetta and Donald B. Ellison; brother, Jeffrey Ellison. He is survived by his wife, Saundra S. Ellison; daughters, Sara (David) Vogltanz, all Omaha, Missy (Kip) Fladland of Griswold, IA.; granddaughters, Hannah and Ellen Vogltanz; siblings, Erma Ellison of Arcola, IL. and Richard (Arlene) Ellison of Knoxville, TN.; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation:

Visitation will be held Tuesday starting at 10:00 A.M. in the Southwest Church of Christ, 2600 South 124 Street Omaha, NE.

Evergreen Cemetery.
