Doug Almond, 77, died on March 31, 2023 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 20, 1945 to Darlene Finn. He is survived by his wife, Jeanine E. Almond, as well as his sister, Mary Finn, and his brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Frances Finn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Darlene M. Finn and father Tom J. Finn.
Doug graduated from Tech High School and shortly after, on July 12, 1965, joined the Navy. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1967 and eagerly wed his wife of 55 years, Jeanine Almond, on July 29th that same year.
Doug was self-motivated to start his own successful business, Cryo Nebraska Inc., in 1996. In his free time, he enjoyed boating at the Lake of the Ozarks, working on cars and going on drives in the roadster with his wife. He was known for being a machinist as well, as there was nothing he seemed unable to fix. Doug was known for his playful nature with his friends and family, as well as recommending the best places to enjoy company over delicious meals. But, perhaps most of all, he was always ready to lend a hand when someone needed it. And for that reason and so many more, he will be greatly missed.
