Robeson, Fletcher R. “Bob” Lt. Col USAF (Ret.)
July 15, 1937 – April 8, 2023
Fletcher Robert Robeson (Bob or Robey), 85, passed away on April 8, 2023, at Hillcrest Rehab and Care Center in Bellevue after a long battle with kidney failure. Bob was born to Ernest and Bessie (Ross) Robeson on July 15, 1937, in Chewelah, WA. He was the youngest of four brothers - James, Edwin, and Joseph, all preceding him in death. After graduating from the University of Washington, Bob entered the USAF where he served 26 years rising to the rank of Lt Col and flying recon missions during the Cold War, Cuban Crisis, and Vietnam. He served at Forbes AFB, KS, Yokota AB Japan, Kadena AB Okinawa, Offutt AFB, NE and RAF Mildenhall, England. Bob earned many citations including 5 Distinguished Flying Crosses - one of the Nation’s highest awards for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight. Lt Col Robeson came from a proud military family - all true patriots loving God and Country. His family was equally important to him which he began by marrying Brenda Walker on March 17, 1962. This love lasted 61 years and produced 4 amazing children – Bruce, Valley, NE, Barry (Robin Steinke), Louisville, NE, Brian, Lincoln, NE, and Rebecca (Ahmed Naciri), Bellevue, NE. Also surviving him are his pride and joy grandchildren Noah Robeson, Max Robeson, and Karima Naciri, as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends. Bob enjoyed his weekly breakfasts with fellow Airforce buddies, a camaraderie that lasted through the years. He was a proud member of the Bellevue Lions Club and a long-time member of St James United Methodist Church.
Bob would like us to express his appreciation to the Hillcrest staff for their kind and loving care during his stay there, and also to long-time friend Hamilton Kennedy for his many visits, love and assistance to our family during this trying time.
