FLORENCE JEANETTE (BIART) WAYMIRE
Florence Jeanette Biart was the daughter of Randall C and Mable (Zimmerman) Biart. Randal Biart was the Executive Director of the Nebraska Children’s Home Society. Floss was a nurse’s aide at the old Lutheran Hospital while she was attending Bellevue High School. She played the flute and piccolo in the band and also studied the violin under Mrs. Gregerson. Floss was an accomplished soloist with the violin and once performed as first chair for Handel’s Messiah.
Floss entered Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered Nurse in Nebraska, with Reciprocity in California. At Immanuel Hospital she was Supervisor over the House and also taught medications. Later she worked as an office nurse for Dr. Edward Landgon, an Internist, and worked at the newborn nursery at Mills Memorial Hospital’s in San Mateo, California.
Floss met Chuck on the stage of the Omaha City Auditorium, singing the Messiah, and they have sung together ever since, including Voices of Omaha, the Symphonic Chorus, the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, and the Covenant Presbyterian Chancel Choir.
Florence Jeanette Biart married R. Charles Waymire, son of Raymond C and Wilma (Reed) Waymire, on September 2, 1962, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last September. They have four children: R. Charles Waymire II and Sherri, Ronald Charles Waymire and Barbara, Richard Charles Waymire and Julie Rose, and Julie Ann (Waymire) and Jim Nutzman. They have 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
After Chuck had worked for the Leo A. Daly Company for many years, Chuck and Floss started their own company in 1968, Trans/Mid-America, Inc., where Floss has served as Senior Vice President in charge of Operations for over 50 years, building the company throughout the United States and Canada.
