Frances Lucille Thoreen

Frances passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022 at the age of 99. Not enough words can tell you how much joy and laughter Fran brought to those around her with her sense of humor. She met husband Elmer during WW2 at Omaha Steel Mill where Frances was an inspector and crane operator – inspecting Elmer’s work. Elmer always joked he knew he was hooked when Fran wrapped that chain around his neck. They married on November 24, 1945. They worked together at Industrial Chemical Laboratory. Frances and Elmer were married for 54 years.

Preceded in death by parents Vincenzo James and Carmela (Rimeta) Alessandro; husband Elmer V. Thoreen; brothers Angelo Alessandro and Sam (Josephine) Alessandro. Survived by children: Diane (James) Daffin, Rosemary (Richard) Mills; William Thoreen, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Family was always very important to Frances.
