Gary L. Goldstein, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Basalt, Colorado on April 11th with the love of his life, his wife Barbara, at his side. Gary was born January 11, 1936 in Omaha. He attended Central High School and then graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He returned to Omaha, where he began his career as an architect with Leo A. Daly. That firm later merged with Bahr, Vermeer, and Haecker and he remained a partner there until he retired in 1998. He and Barbara then moved to the Rocky Mountains that they loved so much. They lived in both Basalt and Aspen, and kept an apartment in Omaha for when they would return to visit friends and family a few times every year. He loved hiking, biking, skiing, camping, and all things outdoors.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Paul Goldstein and his younger brother Bruce Goldstein.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, his son Michael (Dacia) Goldstein, daughter Beth (Danny) Bernstein, brother Howard (Jan) Goldstein, step-son Todd (Betiana) Simon, step-daughter Venus French and grandchildren Max (Bailey) Bernstein, Blair Goldstein, Sydney Bernstein, Grant Goldstein, Gayle Goldstein, Shemaya French, Mia Simon, Nico French, and Julian Simon.
