Dean was born in El Centro, CA to Gerald and Evelyn Sheaffer. He proudly served in the US Air Force for 28 years. He then worked as a manager for the US Postal Service in Omaha. Dean is survived by wife of 56 years, Penny; sons, Gaylord Dean, Jr. (Elise), Bill (Kelly), and Anthony (Katie) Sheaffer; grandchildren, Kira (Chris) Hatch, Cory, Jessalyn, Kayden, and Ana Sheaffer; brother, Jerry Sheaffer, Jr.; he and Penny also fostered 15 children throughout his life. Preceded in death by parents; 3 sisters; nephew, Christopher Sheaffer.
Funeral Service Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 at 11:30AM with Visitation beginning 1 hour prior at 10:30AM at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Bellevue Chapel. Interment with military honors at Omaha National Cemetery.
