Georgette Patricia Côté Dulac

March 18, 1937 — February 22, 2025

Georgette Patricia Côté Dulac passed away in Omaha on Saturday, February 22, 2025 just days after suffering a stroke. Aged 87, she was a recent resident of Omaha, NE after moving with her husband Bertrand Henry Dulac to be close to her family residing in the Midwest. Georgette was born March 18, 1937 in Lewiston, Maine to George Etienne Côté and Germaine Dora Côté. She attended the University of Maine in Orono, studying Medical Technology and graduating second in her class. She was an officer at the college’s Newman Catholic center, and being an excellent pianist served as accompanist there.

On June 21, 1958, a rainy day in their hometown, she married her high school sweetheart “Bert”. After the birth of their first child, they moved to California so Bert could pursue a career in the Air and Space industry while Georgette chose to stay at home and raise their family. A several decade blur of changing diapers, kissing hurt boo-boos, YMCA, school performances, scouts, religious education, AYSO, teenage traumas, colleges, seminaries and the starting of businesses ensued until the youngest of their seven children finally left home in 2001. She remained active with her parish’s Legion of Mary program and enjoyed her retirement with Bert, together traveling extensively to dozens of countries and regularly visiting their dozens of grandchildren.

Georgette was a remarkable wife, mother and woman. In her salutatorian speech, she challenged her classmates to “living every day to its fullest, and daring to be different and outspoken whenever it will be for someone or something’s betterment,” concluding that “If these feelings pervaded all transactions, explorations, and conferences, how wonderful all would be.” She herself lived up to that challenge, dropping everything to help the people she cared about and leading by example.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bert. She is succeeded by a brother, Gerard Côté; her seven children, Gerard Dulac, Daniel (spouse Diane) Dulac, Ronald Dulac, Stephen (Maria) Dulac, Thomas (Kathy) Dulac, Michael (Mary) Dulac and Patricia (William) Field; 30 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and many good friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a one-time donation “in memory or in honor of Georgette Dulac” to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro (https://parish.holytrinitysp.org/e-giving) where Georgette volunteered, including for its Legion of Mary program (https://parish.holytrinitysp.org/legion-of-mary), for more than thirty years.
