Gloria Houston

Gloria Jean Houston (Gunderson) was born to Esther and James Gunderson in Brainerd, MN. She died one day before her 73rd birthday. Gloria was a free spirited, fun-loving woman, known for her kindness and ability to empathize with others. She obtained her BA in social work at St. Cloud University. She met her husband of 40 plus years, Wayne L, Houston, while doing her internship at the St. Cloud Boys Club. Her priority in life was her family, and they were the center of her world.
Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wayne Houston; her father, James Gunderson; and her brothers David Gunderson and Dean Gunderson. She was survived by her mother, Esther “Billie” Gunderson; her siblings: Sandra Skoog, Marcia Biskupski, Donald Gunderson, Dennis Gunderson, Duane Gunderson; by her children: Angela Heimes, Shon Houston, and Kimmer Houston; and by her grandchildren: Michael Vutov, Riley Heimes, Austin Heimes, and Kemmer Houston.
Gloria has requested that you wear bright colored clothing and share stories and happy memories about her at her Celebration of Life, which will commence on March 22, 2024 at 11 a.m.at Kountze Lutheran Memorial Church; 2650 Farnam Street; dinner to follow.
