A devoted husband to Christine, a caring father to Maureen (Larry) and Ben, a vibrant grandfather to Caleb, Avery, Ethan, and Riley, but also a witty brother to Evelyn, an amiable brother-in-law to Dot and Shirlee, and a dear uncle to Rick, Dave, Ron, Karen, Don, Janice, Tracy, Debbie, Steve, Brian, Julie, Serena, Paul, and Eric. He was loved by numerous children and grandchildren of his nieces and nephews.



His fun loving spirit with a touch of dry wit touched many lives in Oregon, Nebraska, Colorado, California, Baja Mexico, Nevada, and other points in between.



Gordie and Chris traveled throughout the world first through the US Air Force and then during retirement. They spent hours, days, and weeks in the dirt searching for opals, obsidian, geodes, and other rocks. They included friends in some of their escapades finding rocks as well as spending New Year’s Eve on the beach in Baja eating fish tacos and dancing in the new year.
