Grace Walsh Miles

Grace Walsh Miles, of Plattsmouth, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023. She was 86. Grace was born August 15, 1937 in Everett, Massachusetts, to Alden and Deborah Walsh. She graduated from Everett High School in 1955. 

She moved to Louisiana in the seventies where she raised her six children before moving to Nebraska in the early eighties.

Grace never met a stranger and was a friend to all. She would do anything she could to help where help was needed, and as her children were growing up, she was often a mother-figure to her children’s friends. She loved to read, she loved the Hallmark Channel, and she was always amazed by the snow, even though she’d lived in Nebraska nearly 40 years. Grace was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, and her favorite times were the times spent with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alden and Deborah, her brother, Aldie Walsh, her sister, Brenda Walsh and infant son, Charles Miles, Jr. Grace is survived by three sons, Richard Miles (Janet) of Montana, Bill Miles (Cheryl) and Doug Miles of Nebraska, three daughters, Ellen Christensen of Virginia, Gail Wright (Rick) and Deborah Miles of Nebraska, three grandsons, Ben Miles, Tim Sargert (Katie) and Tyler Sargert of Nebraska, two granddaughters, Katie Weinstock (Stephen) and Hollie Wiprud (Chris) of Virginia, one great-grandson, Aaron Wiprud and one great-granddaughter, Riley Weinstock. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Prestige Care Center in Plattsmouth.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on January 13, 2024 at John A.Gentleman Mortuaries Bellevue Chapel, 3402 Samson Way, Bellevue.

VISITATION will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Siena Francis House.
