Harlan Lewis Rips

Harlan Lewis Rips, 1951-2024, was born and lived in Omaha, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Norman Rips. He is survived by his wife, Jane and daughters Sara and Anne, brothers Lance (Julie Johnson), Michael (Sheila Berger) and Bruce Rips. Harlan was a proud graduate of Omaha Central High School and Columbia University. His life work was his family’s business, Commercial Optical Company.

Harlan was known for his intellect and sharp wit. He took great delight in his life-long friendships, including friends from grade school, camp, NFTY and college.

Services will be at 12:15 PM Sunday, September 29 at Temple Israel, 13111 Sterling Ridge Drive.
