Celebration of life for Hazel Hoefer, age 83, of Omaha, Nebraska will be Saturday, June 22nd, John A. Gentleman’s 3402 Samson Way Bellevue, NE at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow.
At a later date a dual headstone will be placed at Graceland Park Cemetery 42nd & L Street, plot 194, for both Debra Anderson and Hazel Hoefer.
Hazel died Sunday May 19th, 2024, at 5:27 pm., at Brookestone Village Nursing Home in Omaha, Nebraska.
Hazel M Hoefer, daughter of Ervin Nicolas Jacob and Augusta Marie (Klawitter) Jacob, was born June 22, 1940, in Norfolk, Nebraska. Hazel married Arlo Hoefer and they were blessed with five children.
Hazel came back to Omaha in March 2021, after living with her youngest daughter Tamara in Colorado and Arizona. She also spent a lot of time with her sister Darlene in Yucaipa, CA. The last three years, Hazel still lived independently in Omaha, in her one-bedroom apartment, until December 31, 2023. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter Cindy and her three great grandsons, Mykal, Kenny, and Lucas for which she had the fondest memories of them fishing, swimming at the pool, lots of traveling and going to dinner. Once Hazel got sick, Tammie Thompson assisted Cindy with her in home health care, running errands and some companionship.
Hazel is survived by her children, Cindy (Lou Jr.) Benis of Papillion, NE and Tamara Hoefer of Green Valley, AZ; her grandchildren Louie Benis III (Amy) of Omaha, NE, Tammie Thompson (Matthew) of Omaha., NE, Jorden Reynolds (Billy) of Omaha, NE, Stacy Sierra (Fortunato) of Navasota, TX, Kenny Anderson of Omaha, NE, Heather Belmont (Dustin) of Omaha, NE. Great grandchildren Jared Anderson (Karla), Martin Sierra, Adrian Sierra (Abigail), Tyler Sierra, Debra Sierra. Mykal Clark (Alexey), Kenny Anderson (Ally), Lucas Anderson (Tatiana) Jaison Benis, Emma Hammond, Nick Benis, Zach Benis. Great-great grandchildren, Jakobi, Jordi, Juliza, Milani, Adalyse, Adaleya. Siblings; Margeret McDonald of Roy, Utah, Elsie Jones of Norfolk, Betty Walker of Ozark, Alabama, Eli (Carla) Jacob of Clearwater, and Harold Jacob of Tremont, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Arlo Hoefer, her sons, Michael and Donald Hoefer, daughter, Debra Anderson, granddaughter, Trina Hoefer; her parents, and siblings; Elvera Lewis, Darlene Petersen, Ervin "Bud" Jacob, Luella Simpson, Louie Jacob, Joyce Daniels.
