Jack Emil Seume was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 19, 1926 to Herman and Lena Seume and went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2018 at the age of 91. He was a life-long resident of Omaha, graduated from Omaha Benson High School in 1944, served in the Navy until the end of WW2, and graduated from Omaha University (now UNO) in 1949. He married Vivion Mary Mercer on October 21, 1950 at the Omaha Gospel Tabernacle (now Christ Community Church). They had been married nearly 62 years at the time of her homegoing in 2012. Jack was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Richard H. and Robert R. Seume. He is survived by their three children - Richard Scott Seume and his wife, Linnea Joy, Jeffrey Jack Seume and his wife, Carole Noelle, and Patricia Anne Oatman and her husband, Russell Keith; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Jack worked for IBM from 1949 until his retirement. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, and a loving, faithful, and exemplary husband and father. He was an active member of Christ Community Church for nearly 70 years. His family thanks the Lord for his life, love, prayers, and godly example. We rejoice in the confident assurance that he is with his Lord and that we will be reunited with him again one day.
