James George Shald- dedicated husband, father of five children, ten grandchildren, and neighbor to thousands- passed away on December 24th, 2022, at the age of 69, at home with his bride in Omaha, Nebraska.
Jim was born to George and Mary Shald in Atkinson, Nebraska on April 4th, 1953. He graduated from Stuart high school in 1971 and Nebraska Technical College in Milford in 1973. He married Rosemary Shald (Ramm) at St Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart on December 21st, 1973. They then built their family and “Jimmy Shald’s” Carpentry business in Omaha, Nebraska.
Whether it was cabinetry, winter sleds, props for school dances, church steeples or doll houses, Jim crafted the most beautiful wooden artwork. His passion was finding, researching and restoring antique tools and loving his grandbabies.
Jim was a dear friend to so many, including relatives, neighbors, clients, those with a passion for antiques (or a couple spare hours to hear about his collection), fellow swim families, Boy Scouts, or those in need of a sponsor. He supported so many people from different walks of life through their ups and downs. His huge heart, Jimmy jokes and “you betchas” will forever be missed.
Jim was preceded in death by his first-born son, Michael Allen and parents, George and Mary.
He is survived by his Wife, Rosemary, their children Sarah, Michael, Miranda (Patrick) and Katie (Joe), his grandchildren Landon, Reese, Isabella, Quinn, Nyla, Luke, Jane, Camden, Kate and Jamie, and his siblings, John, Judy Prater, LouAnn Cadwallader, Jerry and Patty Varilek.
A celebration of life will be held this Summer in Omaha with an announcement to follow.
