James was born in Omaha to James and Lillian (Peklo) Lorence, Sr. He served in the US Navy for an enlistment before making his career as an electrician. He worked for Miller Electric for 37 years. James was an entrepreneur and always thinking of his next project, creating and operating several successful small businesses. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed horse races.
Preceded in death by parents; sister, Helen (Robert) Plambeck; brother-in-law, Les Hassel. James is survived by wife, Lana; sons, James, III and Lannie Lorence; sister, Lorraine Hassel; extended family and friends.
Funeral Service Friday, August 6th at 10:30AM at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Bellevue Chapel. Visitation Thursday 5:00-7:00PM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors at Bohemian Cemetery.
