Preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Marlene Quinn Sharp and his brother Jerry. He is survived by his daughters Amy (Courtney) Hauth, Diane (Faraz Shooshani) Sharp, Jill (Bob) Camenzind, and Jami (Rick) Hubbard; grandchildren Corrine, Cassandra, James, Jon, Trevor, Zach, Michael, Quinn and Erika; siblings, Carol (Jim) Coulter, Larry (Carolyn) Sharp and Bruce (Cindy) Mayfield, sister-in-law Emily Sharp; extended family and good friends.
Jim was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Lucille Friggel Sharp. He moved to Ashland, Nebraska in 1950 and graduated from Ashland High School in 1956. Jim worked for Western Electric/AT&T for 37 years, starting out in the shop in 1958, then after graduating from the University of Omaha, in IT management. Jim and Marlene moved to Phoenix in 1989. When Jim retired in 1995, he was able to fulfill his dream of golfing nearly every day.
He was very easy going, except when it came to his daughters’ curfews, Nebraska football and golf. Those things he took very, very seriously. He was a devoted husband, an amazing father, and a wonderful Papa to his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
