Valerie “Jayne” Mohr was born in Ironwood, Michigan to Joseph and Mary (Kassa) Matejovich. She was one of the youngest of 7 children. Jayne loved to cook, and her meals were by far the best. She was also a master bartender, who could shake or stir the best mean martini you could ever have. She loved Christmas, decorating for Christmas, Elvis and Patsy Cline Christmas music, Hallmark Christmas movies and of course her soaps! I’m sure her DVR is full of old soap recordings. Up to the day Jayne passed, she was still wearing her 5” stiletto boots, her signature eyeliner (even though she could no longer really see to apply it) and her fancy colorful leggings. As a friend once said, “She’s a Hoot!” Jayne’s little doggie, Snowflake, passed a year ago last Christmas and she never recovered from losing her best friend and love. Jayne's final resting place will be with her husband, Gene at Ft McPherson National Cemetery Maxwell, NE The interment will be at a later date. Jayne will be dearly missed.
Preceded in death was her wonderful and loving husband of 47 years, Eugene Mohr; surviving family includes three daughters, Gena (husband, Roger) Holbert of Maryville, Tenn, Robin (husband, Herman) Gerhardt of Beaumont, Texas, Lonni (husband, Shannon) Morrissey of Blair; one son, Shane Mohr (Kandi) of Omaha; eight grandchildren, Javan Schiferl, Steven (Kristi) and Grant Gerhardt, Annaliese (Scott) Philips, Isaac (Grace) and Spencer Morrissey, Danielle and Ashley Mohr along with four great grandchildren, Katelyn and Zach Gerhardt, Callan and Beau Morrissey.
