Jeanette Claire Keely (Batko) passed away peacefully on the morning of March 25, 2024. Jeanette was 71 years old. She was a much loved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and wife.
Jeanette was born on January 21,1953 to Virginia and John Batko in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Omaha and attended Holy Name High School where she graduated in 1971. After graduating, Jeanette joined the workforce and pursued opportunities in insurance and other outlets. She had a very active social life; she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
Jeanette met the love of her life, Rick Keely, while mingling in the same social circles after high school. They had mutual interests, including watching Nebraska football, spending time with extended family, and exploring what the Omaha Metro had to offer. They married on May 10,1975 and were together for almost 49 years. They were blessed with three children: Kevin (Alisa), Kristin, Douglas (Maureen): and three grandchildren: Zoe, Declan, and Fiona. Jeanette was always there for her children. She would never think twice about taxiing them or their friends to any event.
Due to Jeanette's passion for travel, she and Rick always made sure to plan family vacations. These adventures included trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean, skiing in Colorado, numerous trips to Minnesota or residence in Florida. Jeanette loved visiting the beach; she looked forward to putting her toes in the sand, listening to the waves, and conversing with family and friends who came to visit.
She will truly be missed.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her Dad, John H. Batko and her brother John F. Batko.
She is survived by her mother, husband, children, grandchildren, sister, uncle, many in- laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. All of whom miss her spirit and enjoyment of a good time.
