Jerome “Jerry” Throener, 90, was born November 13, 1925 in Monterey, Nebraska to John and Sophie (Heiman) Throener. He attended school in St. Charles.
Jerry married Agnes Hagedorn in St. Charles on April 6, 1948. He farmed for seven years. In 1955, they moved to West Point, where he owned and operated a corn shelling business. He later worked for Kaups Seed & Fertilizer until his retirement in 1988.
Following retirement, Jerry and Agnes moved to Omaha where they enjoyed traveling, dog racing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Agnes; son, Don (Katie) Throener; daughter, Diane (J.K.) Lawson; grandchildren, Jeffrey Ferguson, Jason Throener and fiancée Chrissa Bonow, Jerry Lee Throener, Bryan (Nicole) Westerman, and Gina (Curtis) Mulford; great-grandchildren, Colin Westerman, Olivia Mulford, Aiden Mulford, Haley Throener, and Aubrey Throener; brother, John (Rita) Throener; and sister, Marilyn (Don) Kloke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant grandson, Donald Throener Jr.; and brothers, Irvin and Norbert Throener.
A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Leo the Great or New Cassel Retirement Center.

Memorial Mass 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Leo Catholic Church, 1920 N 102nd Street.
Visitation:
Memorial visitation will be held one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Leo Catholic Church.
