JoAnne Elizabeth Gladson (Jenkinson)
JoAnne was born on September 26, 1944, in Des Moines, IA to John E. And Mercedus E. Jenkinson. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School and attended Grand View University as well as UCLA. JoAnne raised her daughters and worked as a social worker after they graduated. She was also a member of the Des Moines Eastern Star of Adelphic Chapter.
In 1993, JoAnne moved to Sunrise Beach, MO. While there, she was involved in various philanthropic endeavors including Women’s Auxiliary. She spent her time at the lake painting, gardening and enjoying the water.
JoAnne relocated to Omaha, Nebraska in 2014 to be closer to family. She loved her daughters, Jonann and Kimberly. She was a devoted mother, centering her life on raising her girls and enjoying family.
JoAnne is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Jonann (Gladson) and Andrew Ellner, Kimberly (Gladson) and Kevin Lewis; grandchildren Avery and Zachary Ellner, Kathryn and Joseph Lewis; sisters Judith Haines, Eileen Peterson; niece and nephews Anne Haines, Jon Haines, and Michael Segan.
A private family burial will be held in Sioux City, IA at the Jenkinson family burial plot. A memorial celebration of JoAnne’s life will be held at a later date in July.
