JoAnne Klosner
September 19, 1931 – December 31, 2022
JoAnne Frenking Klosner, 91, went peacefully to her heavenly home Saturday, December 31, 2022, from natural causes, in Omaha, Nebraska. Born in Omaha, she is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Anne and Neill Everitt, Jr.; son, Chris Klosner; and daughter, Cecilia Wortmann. She is survived by her brother, John J. (Noreen) Frenking, and her children, Cher (Ben) Klosner Lane, Gene Klosner, Joe (Lisa) Klosner, and Margaret (Frank) Smith; son-in-law, Tom Wortmann; seven grandchildren.
JoAnne was, above all, a beloved mother and grandmother. She was a classically-trained vocalist who sang on multiple recordings and passed on her love of music to all her family. JoAnne co-owned a medical supply company, and in her last few years became an “unintentional documentarian” by compiling three decades of old silent family films, and composing, narrating and recording the stories behind the footage into a 2½-hour movie.
Her daily words: "I am very blessed."
Visitation Thursday beginning at 5:30pm, with a Rosary at 7pm at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries 72nd Street Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Duchesne Academy, St. Margaret Mary Church, or the family, c/o Gene Klosner.
