Josephine Ann (Sok) Marquardt was born March 6, 1933, to John & Anna (Augustyn) Sok. Josephine attended grade school in Valley county, NE. In January 1946 the family moved to Burt county, NE, where Josephine graduated from Tekamah High School.
Josephine went to work at Hormel in Fremont, NE after graduation, where she met Leon H. Marquardt, as he was a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. They were united in marriage on April 23, 1955, at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Tekamah, NE. They moved to Chicago, IL. Two children were born to this union, Andrew (Kathy) Marquardt & Ann (Steve) Marquardt-Edloff. They then moved back to Omaha, NE.
Josephine was a homemaker and a cook for Millard & Omaha Public Schools.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Leon and her parents and in-laws. Brothers Henry (Darlene) Sok & Stephen Sok. Sisters Lillian (Alvin) Vetick & Eva (Bernard) Spenner. Brother & sister - in laws: Arthur Laetsch & Robert Gill, Loyd (Marie) Marquardt, Harald (Shirley) Marquardt, Charles (Bonnie & Lois) Marquardt, a niece & 3 nephews.
Josephine is survivied by her 2 children Andrew (Kathy) Marquardt & Ann (Steve) Marquardt-Edloff. 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, great grandchildren. Sisters Adelene Laetsch of Atkinson & Marie Gill of Tekamah, 3 sister - in laws: Patricia Sok of Fremont, Delores (Robert) Block & Marilyn Marquardt of Maryville, TN. Aunts & numerous cousins, nieces & nephews and friends.
