Joshua Parker "Woody" Woodruff

Joshua "Woody" Parker Woodruff, 28, of Los Angeles, CA was killed in a hit and run on January 1, 2016. He was the Director of Customer Strategy at Soylent until his death. He was previously the Director of Operations at Apartment List and an associate at the Boston Consulting Group. Josh was a 2011 graduate of Harvard University where he was president of the Delphic Club and manager of the Cambridge Queenshead. After implementing one of the greatest pranks in Nebraska history, he graduated from Omaha Burke High School in 2006.



He is survived by his family who loved him deeply and cherished his 28 years of life; his parents, Mark Wells and Caren Unger Woodruff, of Omaha, NE and his brother, Benjamin Woodruff (Andrea), and his sister, Heather Woodruff Grizzle (Benjamin) of New York, NY. He is adored by his nieces and nephew, Abigail, Annarose, Rachel and Caleb Grizzle of New York, NY. He is also survived by his loving grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his friend Daniel Weisenburger and his grandmother Lillian Unger.



Josh, above all, was known for the depth with which he loved his friends and the way he made anyone he met feel valued. He spent the final weeks of his life much as he spent the previous 28 years—investing deeply in his relationships, sharing God's love with those he encountered and helping those around him make the most of every moment.

His funeral will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 9th at Lifegate Church, 15555 W. Dodge Road, Omaha, NE.
