Laurel Kay "Laurie" Martin

October 30, 1966 — January 11, 2025

Papillion, NE

Laurie was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt. She graduated from Westside high school. She worked at McDonalds as part of a school program. Volunteered at a nursing home, loved being a part of the Human Resources team at Midlands Hospital, volunteered and participated in Special Olympics.

Laurie loved people, coloring, dressing up, getting and giving hugs, ceramics, dances, going out to eat, parties, concerts and every holiday.

Laurie was a member of Parent Professional Association (PPA) a club and school. She was on a bowling league for over 28 years and with her sister Margie as a close companion.

It is hard to put into words how much we loved Laurie Martin. She was a bright smile, quirky, full of joy and a sweet individual. She has made a permanent residence in our hearts.

Preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Mary Martin; siblings, Marilyn Vandergraff, Steven Martin and Margaret Martin. Survived by her siblings, Greg (Leandra) Martin, Janet (Peter) Sobetski, Teri (Dave) Hermsmeier, Linda Haring, Susan (Dale) Lindhorst; 20 nieces and nephews, 46 grand-nieces and nephews and 2 great-nieces and nephews; her extended family and many good friends.
