Laurine was born March 22, 1925 to John and Grace (Mohlman) Williams in Glenvil (Clay County) Nebraska. She was raised in Clay County and attended Willowdale Country School and Glenvil High School. Raised in Lutheran faith, Laurine was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil. She worked inseveral small industries until attended Union Pacific Railroad Telegraph school in Omaha. After graduation, she was a telegrapher agent at Washington State Division and especially liked working Yakima Valley stations until war ended and returned to Nebraska. Laurine then worked at Mode-O-Day in Hastings some eleven plus years, moved to Omaha, worked for a few small firms and lastly worked at Omaha Public Power District for twenty plus years.
Laurine married Norman Savine, had one son John, and they lived in the South Omaha area. Upon retirement, she enjoyed babysitting granddaughters, Jessica and Nicole. Attended Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church faithfully and enjoyed volunteering at dinners, pantry, and the church newsletter. Her hobbies were bowling, quilting, and in her later years enjoyed women’s volleyball games, especially Nebraska and Creighton. Laurine also loved sewing, reading and gardening.
Preceded in death by husband, Norman Savine; parents, John and Grace Williams; brother, Albert Williams. Survived by son, John (Diane) Savine; granddaughters, Jessica (Nick) Lohr and Nicole (Tim) Brown; great granddaughters, Vivianne and Elizabeth Lohr and Olivia and Audrina Brown.
Funeral Service Thursday, Dec. 19th at 10:30AM at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, 2650 Farnam St. Visitation Wed 4-6PM at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Bellevue Chapel. Memorials to Kountze Memorial.
