Surrounded by the beautiful nature of Cacique Monción, Dominican Republic, Lidia María Genao Peralta was born on October 6, 1946, a product of the love between her parents Gregorio Genao and Ana Joaquina Peralta. Lidia was the third of twelve siblings, she grew up in a home full of peace where love, good values and the Catholic faith reigned. In her hometown she attended the Monción school where she completed her primary studies, which would later allow her to serve the church and society. The years of her youth Lidia lived in the province of beautiful sunsets, Mao Valverde, next to the man that God had chosen for her, Virgilio Antonio Peralta with whom she united her life in marriage under the commandment of the Catholic Church and as a seal from their love they created together an beautiful family of five children: Any, Felix, Eddy, Juana and Virlid; who blessed her with twelve grandchildren who love and respect her like a mother. In her heart there was always the desire to follow the path of our Lord, so when she arrived in Valverde she joined the Sacred Heart of Jesus church in the Hatico sector. In addition, she was a Catechist, Legionary of Mary Help of Christians, Sister of the Heart of Jesus, cursillista and active member of the Catholic Church. In 2006 she arrived in Omaha, Nebraska, United States where she continued serving the Lord, joining the Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Latin Women group. Today Lidia leaves this earthly world to go towards the encounter with our Lord, but she leaves as a legacy of life, the constant search for faith in God and His word, the strong love for family, helping others and respect for others. A legacy that we will always carry in our hearts. Rest in peace.
