Lois A. "Swany" Schwaninger

Lois Ann (Swany) Schwaninger, 89, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Born July 16, 1934, in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of Frank Timperley and Hazel Schaefer Timperley.

Lois grew up outside of Bennington, NE, attended Benson High School, worked in Irvington and married Ludell (Lou or Bump known by family) Schwaninger. Her life soon included, Sheri, Sandy, Kurt, and several moves with Ralston Purina from Omaha to Sioux City, IA, Denver, CO, Brussels, Belgium, Denver, CO again, and then settling in Omaha, NE for the remainder of her life. At the age of 40 she began a real estate career in Omaha that lasted for 30 years, becoming well known as Swany. Also, during this time, she became grandmother to seven and great grandmother of six. She loved playing bridge, spending time with her many friends, traveling, and being with family.

Preceded in death by husband, Ludell Schwaninger; brothers, Robert, Merle and Pete Timperley.

Survived by children, Sheryl (Mark) Isham, Sandra (Craig) McGill, Kurt Schwaninger; grandchildren, Erick, Shawn, Christopher, Kelly, Kimberly, Brian, Baron; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Frank Roger Timperley; numerous nieces and nephews.
