Lorena A. Maire, 88, formerly of North Platte passed away October 30, 2019 in her home in Omaha, NE surrounded by her family. She was born on September 16, 1931 to Edward and Elizabeth (Hammock) Hammock in Atlanta, Georgia. Lorena graduated from Atlanta, Georgia. She was united in marriage to George Maire on June 30, 1953 in Atlanta, Georgia. Lorena and her husband later moved to Nebraska where she was a homemaker and took pride in raising her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family along with traveling and sharing the love of Jesus. Lorena was known as the most gentle, kind, and loving woman who never met a stranger. Everyone who came in contact with her fell in love with her sweet spirit. Lorena was referred to as “Meme” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as anyone else she met. Her favorite past time was sharing stories of her childhood and watching her great-grandchildren grow. She is survived by her son, Garland (Debby) Maire of Kearney; daughters Paula Cain of Omaha and Linda (Kevin) Conant of Lincoln; grandchildren, Amanda (Tyler) Reed, Adam Maire, Kerri (Danny) Yosten, Natalie Conant, Jenny (Johnny) Hood, Shawnie Cain, and Nathan Conant; great-grandchildren, Caden, Brylee, Conner, Andrew, Cheyenne, Macie, Braxton, Savannah, Hezekiah, and another great grandson due in December who she was anxiously waiting the arrival of; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and son Steven DeWayne.
