Margaret Kerrigan "Kerrie" Duffey Helget

Helget, Margaret Kerrigan “Kerrie” Duffey, 93, loving widow of John Duffey



and Gene Helget passed away peacefully in her home February 24, 2016.



Kerrie was born in Flanagan, Illinois in 1923 to John and Elizabeth Kerrigan.



She received her mathematics degree in 1944 from Rosary College in



River Forest, Illinois. In 1947 she married John Duffey of Madison, WI.



Together they raised 7 children in Dubuque, Iowa and Richardson, Texas.



Mike Duffey(spouse Marybeth),Peggy Labelle (Jim), Dan Duffey (Chris),



Terry Duffey (Susan),Kati Schwartz (JP), Dick Duffey (Susan) and Karen



Hendrick (Bill).



Following the passing of John in 1977, Kerrie married Gene Helget in 1983



bringing her to Omaha, Nebraska, from Texas. Gene and his deceased wife



Mary had 5 children, Bill Helget (Mary Katherine), Jim Helget (Kathy),



Peggy Nolan (Bill), Patsy Kravchuk (Mike), and Tom Helget (Theresa). Kerri



spent 32 years of her life in Omaha and came to consider it home.



Kerrie will be remembered as a strong, loving and faithful wife, mother,and



friend. She is preceded in death by John Duffey, Gene Helget, Mary Helget,



brother Dick Kerrigan, sister Rita Weise, daughter Peggy Nolan and



grandson Jason Helget. Kerrie leaves behind a legacy of 38 grandchildren,



and 16 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.



Services:

Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 am at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.



Visitation:

Visitation beginning one hour prior to the services at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.



Interment:

Calvary Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.
