Preceded in death by dear friend Virginia Davis; parents, Henry and Wilhelmina Bock; brothers Robert (Jane) and Donald; survived by sister in law Barbara Bock-Mavis, nephews: Jeb, Grove & Andy Bock; nieces: Lesley Bock, Connie Komen, Susie Dahl and many grand nieces & nephews.
Marge was born in Omaha. She graduated from Central High School in 1945. She went on to graduate from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1949.
Marge’s treasured experiences as a camp counselor in Minnesota sparked a lifelong passion for teaching and led to a long and fulfilling career in elementary education, Omaha Public Schools.
Marge was appreciated for always being forthright and candid with both students and parents. She loved nothing more than recognizing and developing the special abilities of her pupils, helping them reach their full potential.
Marge enjoyed an active social life. She loved sports, both participating in and watching athletic contests. She was a trophy winner on the greens, but – more importantly to her – a good sport and a true friend in the clubhouse. Marge also traveled the globe, landing in all the continents!
Marge was a patriot, a philanthropist and a woman of deep and abiding faith. She was also a heck of a good time and an unforgettable character who was always there to offer encouragement and praise.
Though Marge’s light has gone out in this life, her spirit will always remain a guiding light in the memory of her family, friends and students.
Special thanks to Helen Perea, Tabitha Hospice, Physicians Choice and the assisted living staff at Pacific Springs. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Tabitha Hospice-Omaha.
