Martha A. Eckmann

Martha Ann Eckmann, age 88, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away April 19, 2024 at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.  

Martha was born August 9, 1935 in Persia, Iowa to the late George and Alma (Meier) Eckmann. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, IA.  Following graduation, she worked in Omaha at Brandeis and Boys Town.  

Martha was a member of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church and cultivated several lifelong friendships there which she greatly cherished.   She spent many hours volunteering at the church’s food pantry and delivering Meals on Wheels. 

 She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Melvin, Herb and Earl Eckmann and sister Lavina Glotfelty.  Survivors include her sister Dorothy Eckmann and sister-in-law Marian Eckmann, both of Harlan, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.    

The funeral service will be April 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha with visitation at 10:00 AM.
