Mary Lou Holmberg

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, James J Holmberg, II; parents, Isadore M Schwery and Helen Schwery (Gubbels), brother Romuald (Bud) Schwery and sister Lucy Wear (Schwery). She is survived by children James J, III, M Jeffrey (Cheryl), Mary Jane (Tony) Rupp and Holly Justice, and 8 grandchildren.

Mary Lou was a graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Creighton University and later a Masters degree from Kearney State College, Nebraska. She created and was the founding Director of the LPN nursing program at Platte College and successor campuses in Columbus, Nebraska. After retirement from teaching, she became treasurer and HR director of GreyStone, Inc. owned by her and her husband.

She has served on the Nebraska state Board of Nursing and the board of directors of the East Central District Health Department, and Catholic Charities of the Omaha Archdiocese.
