Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Preceded in death by husband, Robert N. Thurmond, Jr.; parents, Dr. John F. and Josephine Albers; brother, Dr. Hubert Albers; granddaughter, Colleen Craig; and great-grandson, Jon Newcomer. Survived by children and spouses, Robert N. Thurmond III; Dr. John and Nancy Thurmond; Joie and Matt Letter; Ann Marie Thurmond; Shelly O’Keefe; William and Susan Thurmond; and Thomas Thurmond; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Also leaves behind siblings, Dr. John W. Albers; Louise Ternus; Gerald and Grace Albers; Dr. Richard and Marilyn Albers. Admired and loved by all for her selfless and loving devotion to the care of her special needs child. She will be forever missed and never forgotten. Unsere liebe Mutter und Oma, ruhe in Frieden.
